How to select a good career coach?

When I search on google for a career coach, millions of option appears. Than a question arise in my mind, which one is better? Therefore, I find a good way to choose a good career coach from John McKee website (www.johnmmckee.com) which I want to share with you.

Nine tips to find a good career coach:

·         Work Experience: Coach should have real world work experience. He should not be trained by only coaching. He should have practical suggestions about your career to help you in achieving your goals.

·         Credentials: Try to find a coach who is a member of Worldwide Association of Business Coaches (WABC) or International Coach Federation (IFC). These are some symbols of general standards of a coach in professionalism.

·         Credibility: Choose a coach who is visible and active in the world. For example, he has published articles; major media interviewed him, has written any book, or given speeches at professional conferences.

·         Testimonials: He or she provides you references from past clients. It tells you about the image of your coach in public. If you are provided with very less references than beware of that coach.

·         Methods of meeting: Some coaches will text you or email you. Some will meet you at restaurants or coffee shop. In addition, some will force you to meet in their office. Choose your coach according to method you like.

·         Goals: He should be able to determine your overall goals. He should know about the directions in which you are driving. He should be able to outcome your results.

·         Consultation: Your first meeting with your coach is critical in establishing the chemistry. Your first meeting is always free. If someone charge money say direct not to him.

·         Guarantee: He should give guarantee for result good outcomes. Otherwise, he should refund your all money. If someone says you this word, it means he is very talented person.

·         Fees: The fees of coaches is very widely according to coaches. It may vary from $75 to $500. Therefore, it depend on your pocket which one you choose.
